Executive Team

Throughout ListenUp's development, a dedicated group of nine students from the Holy Ghost Preparatory School's Class of '22 provided valuable input and operational support.
This team grew out of the school’s Spiritan Seminar course, where members collaborated to evaluate the platform, moderated by the school chaplain, Fr. Dan Sormani, C.C.Sp.
Story Behind The Project
Within junior year of high school (2024), Sean formulated the idea of ListenUp whilst
contemplating topics for his Speech and Debate story (a competitive performance themed
around a societal issue). With a lifelong fascination of psychology and mental health services,
the idea of behavioral health equity stood out to him. While preparing speeches on mental health equity, he became engrossed with communication barriers faced by marginalized voices. Being affiliated with the Deaf community through family members, Sean specifically researched the Deaf's challenges in accessing mental health services. After realizing the severity of this issue, Sean desired to do more than perform a competitive speech on the subject. To facilitate widespread awareness and action, Sean started ListenUp. This is the third version of the website- revised for a clearer message and more action-oriented initiatives.
